My journey into floristry began during lockdown, when time slowed and my garden became a place of comfort and creativity. I started growing flowers from seed, learning to nurture them patiently from the very first shoots through to full bloom. With space to experiment, I began drying my flowers in my home studio (utility room at the time) and creating arrangements simply for the joy of it, pieces that felt thoughtful, natural and a little bit different.
What began as a quiet passion soon grew into something more. People started to connect with my work, and before long I was supplying dried flowers to local cafés, creating installations for businesses, and designing flowers for weddings. Alongside this, I spent many weekends trading at monthly markets, refining my style and building a business rooted in seasonality, sustainability and care.
Today, I work from my home studio in the Shropshire countryside, specialising in dried flower weddings while also offering fresh, seasonal wedding flowers. I grow my own flowers wherever possible, and I’m excited to now be expanding further with newly acquired land and the renovation of an old barn, I’ll soon have more space to grow, create, and cater for even more weddings in the years to come. I hope you love what you see and a great big welcome to Kate's Potting Shed.
